"Since childhood, Purva has been deeply fascinated by the art of henna. The rich, earthy aroma of henna captivated her senses, drawing her into a world of intricate designs and creative expression. She would spend hours doodling new patterns with henna cones, finding immense joy in the delicate flow of lines and shapes.
A significant source of inspiration came from her neighbour, a skilled henna artist, who would create stunning henna portraits on her hands. Watching these beautiful designs come to life sparked a deep passion in Purva, igniting her desire to master the art herself.
After getting married, Purva moved to Canada, but her love for henna remained a cherished part of her identity. The intricate patterns, the cultural significance, and the joy of adorning hands with her artwork continue to inspire her journey as a henna artist. Through her talent, she not only expresses her creativity but also keeps a treasured tradition alive, blending heritage with artistry in every design she creates.
What started as a passionate hobby for Purva gradually transformed into a thriving small business in Calgary. Alongside her henna artistry, she began supplying high-quality, natural henna cones, which quickly gained popularity among local artists and clients.
Unlike many store-bought henna cones that contain chemicals and preservatives, Purva’s cones are completely natural and free from harmful additives. Her decision to start selling fresh henna cones stemmed from the lack of chemical-free options available in the city. Initially, she relied on store-bought cones but was disappointed by their artificial ingredients. Recognizing the demand for a safer and more authentic alternative, her clients encouraged her to sell her own handmade cones, appreciating their purity and organic nature.
Today, many henna artists in Calgary trust and use Purva’s cones, valuing the quality and authenticity she brings to the local henna community."
